Megève

This hidden gem is situated right in the heart of the Mont Blanc valley an hour away from Geneva and just round the corner from Chamonix.

The village was originally developed as a ski resort at the beginning of the 20th century when the Rothschild family chose to spend their winter vacations here after becoming disenchanted with the Swiss resort of St. Moritz.

The ski area is extensive with over 450km of pistes and a wide variety of terrain to cater for all levels and provide the perfect conditions for our winter ski school ( www.simonbutlerskiing.com ).

Sitting at the foot of Mt Blanc we regularly receive a good covering of snow and heavy investment in snow canons in recent years has improved the consistency & longevity of the snow that falls each year.

It is however much more than a winter playground these days and boasts a sports centre with 50m outdoor and 25m indoor pools, gym, ice rink, climbing wall, tennis courts, a library and conference facilities.

The town is also embracing the potential of cycling and other summer activities with events such as the Time Megève Sportive, Haute Route and MB Race growing in size and popularity each year.

Our summer operation is based around events such as these and we have brought in various experts from the cycling world to ensure that our guests have the ultimate alpine experience on the bike.

Sport aside it is difficult to talk about Megeve without mentioning the food. Whether at the chalet itself, in town at one of the Michelin Star operations or a quirky brasserie serving hearty Savoyarde fare your taste buds are sure to be delighted.
